Romantic Getaways to Warm Your Valentine’s Day

I’ve scheduled my weekend getaway to check out the new Kinzie Chicago (where they “Kiss, Kiss, Bang, Bang” Package is quite enticing), but I’d have a hard time choosing from these romantic options if I didn’t already have plans.

Also in Chicago, the Intercontinental Michigan Avenue has thought of everything, providing babysitters (in partnership with Monicare Nannies and Household Staffing) for the busy working couple in a package that includes accommodations and a credit to the Michael Jordan Steakhouse.

When I was in Sandusky, Ohio, I had the pleasure of meeting Terri Bergman and checking out The Kitchen Bounty. If you’re in the area on Valentine’s Day, she’s holding an open house at The Kitchen Bounty-Perkins Campus with a spectacular dinner.

One of my favorite warm spots is at the Paradisus Palma Real (or the Paradisus Punta Cana) and they are ready for romantic long weekends with Royal Service Accommodations, a dinner for two on the beach. A welcome of Moet Ice Champagne, strawberries, a chocolate dessert place and rose petals; and in room couples massage and a water ritual. They are even ready for those who want to pop the question with a “Say Yes” engagement proposal package.

You will also be pretty much guaranteed a warm weekend if you head to St. Maarten. Many resorts are offering deals of 20-30% off, including Flamingo, Horizon View  and Royal Palm.

I loved my stay at the Sanctuary at Camelback Mountain in Paradise Valley, Arizona and can certainly recommend it for a Valentine’s Day getaway. The Sweethearts’ Sanctuary package includes a Valentine’s Day dinner at element’s (the views are spectacular), two nights in a spacious casita and a 60 minute couples massage at the Sanctuary Spa.

I haven’t been here yet, but the romance meter on this one was too much not to pass along! The Gideon Putnam Resort & Spa in Saratoga Spa State Park is offering couples wellness experiences at the Roosevelt Baths and Spa and Saratoga Springs, horse drawn carriage rides, romantic dinners and room service delivery of truffles, body oils and a Guide to Aromatherapy.
